يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوۡبَةٗ نَّصُوحًا عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ وَيُدۡخِلَكُمۡ جَنَّٰتٖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ يَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡزِي ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيَّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥۖ نُورُهُمۡ يَسۡعَىٰ بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَبِأَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَتۡمِمۡ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَآۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ

سورة االتحريم، ٨ .

O you who have believed, repent to Allāh with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow [on] the Day when Allāh will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent.

Surah At-Taḥrīm: 8

Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation. 

عن الأغر بن يسار المزنى رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ ‏

ياأيها الناس توبوا إلى الله واستغفروه فإنى أتوب في اليوم مائه مرة‏

رواه مسلم ٢٧٠٢

Al-Agharr bin Yasar Al-Muzani (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and He would replace (you by) those people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would have pardoned them.

Narrated by Muslim, 2702

Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation. 

عن أبي حمزة أنس بن مالك الأنصارى خادم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏:‏

لله أفرح بتوبة عبده من أحدكم سقط على بعيره وقد أضله في أرض فلاة

متفق عليه‏ رواه البخاري( ٦٣٠٩ ) ومسلم ( ٢٧٤٧ ) .

Anas bin Malik Al-Ansari (MayAllah be pleased with him) the servant of the Messenger of Allah narrated: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,

Verily, Allah is more delighted with the repentance of His slave than a person who lost his camel in a desert land and then finds it (unexpectedly)

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6309; Muslim, 2747.

Hadith: Arabic Text followed by English Translation. 

عَنِ ابْنِ مَعْقِلٍ، قَالَ ‏:‏ دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏:‏

النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبِي ‏:‏ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ ‏:‏ ‏”‏ النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏:‏ نَعَمْ ‏.‏”

رواه إبن ماجه (4252) . وصححه الألباني في صحيح إبن ماجه

It was narrated that Ibn Ma’qil said:
“I entered with my father upon ‘Abdullah, and I heard him say: ‘The messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Regret is repentance”.My father said: ‘Did you hear the Prophet (ﷺ) say: “Regret is repentance?” He said: ‘Yes.’”

Sunan Ibn Majah, 4252; classed as sahih by al-Albani in Saheeh Ibn Majah.

Hadith

عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏

‏ كُلُّ ابْنِ آدَمَ خَطَّاءٌ وَخَيْرُ الْخَطَّائِينَ التَّوَّابُونَ ‏”

رواه الترمذي ٢٤٩٩ وحسنه الألباني

Anas narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

Every son of Adam sins, and the best of the sinners are the repetant.

‏ من تاب قبل أن تطلع الشمس من مغربها تاب الله عليه‏”

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,

“He who repents before the sun rises from the west, Allah will forgive him”.
